10 favrit things

Hi and happy thanksgiving! This is 10 of the things I am Thankful for having. Hope you enjoy!

1. Life. Without it there is nothing!

2. Family. Without it there is no love. 
3. Patriots. without them we would all be British!


4. Christmas. It brings families together.

5. Tables. Hay, you try writing on a carpet.

6. Turkey. I love good food!

7. Cars. No more walking to school!

8. Water. No water = no life!

9. Video games. They give me stuff to do on weekends.

10. Light. So I can see what I am doing.

hunting spruce hens

Hunting is my favorite thing to do with my dad. We usually hunt for spruce hen in the late morning, after all the predators go to sleep.  I love the sound of the leaves crunching under my feet, birds singing, and the fresh smell of pine.

      

Time to get ready for another awesome hunt! first I run to the closet and get my green and brown camo suit and snap on steel knife. Then I go over to the gun box and get a pack of bullets and my 22 rifle. Finally I bolt to the car. The game is on!

        

As soon as my dad and I enter the woods we know it is great hunting weather. There is a slight up draft in the wind, great for hunting birds. Ten minutes later we hear the unmistakable flapping of wings. A spruce hen! I am startled by a loud bang! in a flash my dad's pistol is back in it's holster and the hen is dead at our feet.

 

 

As we walk home we thought about what to do with our kill. I suggested burritos and dad agreed. You know what that means. we hade a delicious dinner!

Weird Winter Weather

This is what November normally looks like.....

This year the weather has bean very weird. There are lots of good things coming from this strange weather though.

*Usually about now we have 3 feet of snow, but instead we have none - which makes it great for ice skating!

*Instead of thirty below zero, which makes it way too cold to play, it is about twenty above zero - perfect for taking bike rides and hunting spruce chicken.

*The roads are not frozen, which makes car rides saver, and the best part is it is warm enough to eat ice cream!

But this weather is also bad for some things.

* Because there is so little snow and it keeps getting warm, the bears wont hibernate, and animals that change color (such as Artic Hares and Ptarmigans) are easier to see by praetors because they are snow white!

*Also, we are getting way less snow-fort and snowball time!
